Last Period: The Journey to the End of the Despair is a lighthearted anime following Haru, a young "Period" tasked with defeating monsters called "Spirals." After his guild goes bankrupt due to a heist, Haru and his friends—Liza and Gajeru—must rebuild it while taking on odd jobs. Set in a whimsical world inspired by gacha game mechanics, the series pokes fun at tropes and clichés, offering self-aware humor and meta-commentary. Its episodic adventures explore themes of resilience and friendship while parodying the absurdities of RPGs and mobile games. With vibrant animation and quirky characters, it's a playful, unique comedy-fantasy.
